Killin Drama Club was reformed in 1987, and we currently have a membership of about 50 including about 30 junior members. Our main funding comes from the box office, local sponsorship and fund-raising events. We have now introduced a "Friends of Killin Drama Club" scheme for those businesses who wish to have an association with us. If you are interested in becoming a "Friend" please contact us.
We are very fortunate in Killin to have a superb village hall where we have very good facilities including our own lighting and sound systems which we improved in 2000/2001. We have the support of many local people when it comes to costumes and props, and have now got quite a good wardrobe department. We are always ready to welcome new people to the club, whether you want to appear on stage or help out elsewhere (even making the tea!) please let us know. We usually rehearse on Sunday and Thursday evenings, and there is a small group of friendly folk who transform bare materials into wonderful stage sets on Thursdays during the day. So if you can help - give us a call.
We usually have 2 main shows each year - a pantomime in January and a play in the Spring. Not every member of the club treads the boards as many of our member's skills lie elsewhere, this means that we have built up very good backstage, technical, properties and costume departments from within the membership.
If you would like to join us please contact our secretary - memberships are currently £25 for adults and £12.50 for juniors (£10 for additional juniors in same family), which is good value for money for the months of enjoyment you get as a member. We now also have a £5 Social membership for those people who don't want to be involved in the productions.
