  Video Recording  Equipment
now available to local groupS

The video equipment used by the Killin Millennium Committee over the past 2 years has now been placed in the care of the Drama Club, and we plan to use it extensively during rehearsals as an aid to training and to ‘fine-tune’ our performances in the annual One Act Play Festivals.

The equipment includes an excellent camera, lighting and video editing equipment and is seen as an extremely valuable addition to our technical equipment inventory.

The Club wish to make it clear, however, that the equipment is available to all local organisations, and we will offer assistance with the editing process if required. A small donation MAY be requested to cover maintenance and insurance costs, but please note that the equipment is not to be used for any commercial purpose.

If you require any further details please contact Gordon Hibbert (01567 820422)  or Liz Stevens (killin-drama-club@zoom.co.uk)

Awards for All

We applied to "Awards for All" for a grant of £5000 to improve our sound and lighting system, the complete system will cost about £8000 in all, the shortfall (around £1700) to be made up from fundraising.

We were successful, and in November 2000 Northern Light came to install the new system on the basis that we would pay them the balance when we had raised the money.

The new sound and light equipment give us a 48 channel lighting desk which is digitally controlled with memory feature and effects options (lots of new toys for Gregor to play with). We also have four front of house colour wheels with the colours also controlled from desk.

Our sound now includes "foldback" facilities to help actors hear what is being produced from our front of house speakers. (They need all the help they can get!!)

Installing this new system has also meant that it is now possible for us to take a portable system to other venues if required - St Fillans school has already benefited from this facility.

September 2001.

We have now succeeded in raising the required cash - thank you to everyone who supported us in our various fund-raising events. Now come and see our shows in order to see the new system in action.
